crème brûlée french toast

This is an amazing, and sweet variation of the classic french toast. It's almost more like dessert than breakfast or brunch, but delicious at any meal :)

1 cup brown sugar
18 oz round french bread
2 tbs. corn syrup
5 eggs
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cup half and half
1/4 tsp. salt

{melt butter, brown sugar and corn syrup in a saucepan}
(mix half and half, eggs, vanilla and salt in a bowl)

{pour into a 9x13" pan, and spread evenly}

{lay bread slices in the pan}

{pour egg mixture over the bread — refrigerate over night}

{bake at 350˚ for 35-40 minutes}

(the 2 pictures above look a little odd, but I promise it's delicious!)

I hope you guys enjoy this recipe! :)

easter sunday

 Today my mom and I dyed eggs. We've done it every year since I can remember, and it's one of my favorite things to do for easter.

{my favorite egg cracked :(  }

cats and dogs

This weekend I went to visit my family — my aunt, my uncle, my cousins, and their 3 dogs (plus one cat.) Shadow, Buddy and Rosie gladly greeted Milo (my own dog.) However Milo didn't get along so well with Chet, the cat. Chet spent his time hiding under the barn.

{Shadow — yes he has three legs but he walks and sits just fine :) }

 {Milo — "Pie?"}

 we all hiked up Schoodic Mountain, and the view from the top was amazing.
