cinnamon buns:
21/2 cups self-rising flour* | 3 1/2 oz butter |
a pinch salt | 2 egg yolks |
2 tbs superfine sugar | 1 cup milk |
1 tsp ground cinnamon |
filling:
1 tsp ground cinnamon | 2 tbs superfine sugar |
1/4 cup brown sugar | 1 tbs butter, melted |
icing:
1 cup confectioner’s sugar | 2 tbs boiling water |
2 tbs cream cheese, softened | 1 tsp vanilla extract |
1 tbs butter, softened |
*{if you don't have self-rising flour, use this substitute: }
1 cup self rising flour = (approximately) 3/4 cups flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp salt
{whisk the butter, egg yolks, and milk together}
{mix the flour, salt, sugar, and cinnamon together}
{combine the wet and dry ingredients to make a soft dough}
{mix together cinnamon, sugar, brown sugar, and butter to make the filling}
{roll out the dough on a large piece of waxed paper}
{evenly spread the filling on the rolled out dough. Roll up and cut into eight pieces}
{brush with an egg wash (mix one egg and a little milk- brush onto rolls)}
{put the buns on a greased and floured pan. bake at 350˚F for 30-35 minutes}
{add confectioner's sugar, cream cheese, butter, vanilla and boiling water to make icing}
{enjoy!}
