glazed lemon cake




 This is a great cake for any occasion. I love the fresh lemon taste in the cake and icing.

cake:
2 sticks butter
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 cups sugar
1 cup butter milk
eggs
2 tbs. fresh lemon zest
3 cups flour
2 tbs. fresh lemon juice 
1/2 tsp. salt



icing:
1 pound confectioners’ sugar
3 tbs. lemon zest
1 stick butter
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice

cake:
{cream butter and sugar. beat in eggs, one at a time}

{sift together flour, baking soda and salt}

{stir dry ingredients into egg mixture alternately with butter milk- beginning and ending with dry ingredients}

{add fresh lemon juice and zest}

{pour batter into greased tube pan. bake for about 1 hour and 5 minutes at 325˚F}

icing:
{cream butter and confectioner's sugar}

{mix in lemon juice and zest}

{spread on warm cake}

  1. Omigoodness! I'll HAVE to try this, it makes my mouth water just looking at it! Do you bake often? I would love to see some more recipes, especially desserts, they're my favorite thing to make!

  2. YOU MAKE SUCH AMAZING FOODS!! One day there's going to be a big puddle of my drool that said "Jocee drooled here". How awesome does that cake look!! I've made one like it before but it was a Honey type cake. One day I'm going to ask all my friends over and we're going to make all your recipes :))
